About Our Team

Welcome to Team 619 Cavalier Robotics, the official website of a non-profit high school robotics team based in Charlottesville. Our team comprises of students from various schools in the area, who have a passion for robotics and STEM education. We are proud to be a part FIRST, an organization that promotes STEM learning among young people. Our team competes in the First Robotics Competition (FRC) league, where we showcase our skills in designing, building, and programming robots by completing tasks provided by FIRST. As a member of our team, you will learn a wide range of skills, including CAD, programming, machining, electronics, marketing, and more. Join us today and be a part of the future of robotics!

About FIRST

Since 2001, Cavalier Robotics has participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition as FRC Team 619. Every year, the FRC build season begins at “kick-off” in early January and runs for six weeks. During this intense period, we have to design and construct a roughly 130-lb robot to complete in the season’s challenge. After build season, we attend regional competitions throughout the Spring. In our over 20-year history, we have gone to competitions in Richmond, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Myrtle Beach and even the FRC Worlds Championship in Detroit.

FIRST Robotics is a “Global robotics community preparing young people for the future.” Robotics competition teams design, program and build a robot starting with a standard kit of parts and common set of rules to play in a themed head-to-head challenge. Teams also build a brand develop community partnerships for support, and work to promote STEM in their local community.
