FIRST is an international non-profit organization that promotes STEM education through competitive robotics. FIRST programs include Jr.FIRST LEGO League for students in grades K-3, FIRST LEGO League for elementary and middle school students, FIRST Tech Challenge for middle and high school students, and the FIRST Robotics Competition for high school students.
Since 2001, Cavalier Robotics has participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition as FRC Team 619. Every year, the FRC build season begins at “kick-off” in early January and runs for six weeks. During this intense period, we have to design and construct a roughly 130-lb robot to complete in the season’s challenge. After build season, we attend regional competitions throughout the Spring. In our 15-year history, we have gone to competitions in Richmond, Atlanta, Washington D.C., and Myrtle Beach.
After the competition season, we have eight months to prepare for the next season!
