Logo Motion

LogoMotion® is played with inter tubes in the shape of the first logo. The object is to take the tubes and arrange them on the scoring pegs to resemble the first logo. Teams play with two others, to complete their alliance, there are two alliances for every game. There is also a second portion of the game. You have to deploy a minibot up a pole, the catch is that you only have ten seconds to deploy and reach the top of the almost ten foot pole.

The LogoMotion robot is a four wheel, two wheel driven robot. We have two dual omni wheels in the back, and two dual sticky wheels on the front. We are using two AndyMark Toughboxes connected to CIM motors, for the drive train. We are using a double jointed arm, precision machined 1 inch tubing and aluminum blocks. Both joints on the arm, are operated by a motor and gears. Our manipulator is a single joint claw, operated by a pneumatic cylinder, made from aluminum. The minibot is deployed from the rear of the robot, using s drawbridge like system. The minibot can go up the pole in around three seconds.

Our robot is named Jim in honor of Jim Beazell, who was an invaluable resource to our team. A brochure about him is available here.
